Science Team Meeting Registration

Registration for the upcoming Joint NASA-LCLUC Science Team Meeting and GOFC-GOLD/NERIN, NEESPI, and MAIRS workshop on monitoring land cover, land use, and fire in agricultural and arid regions of Northern Eurasia to be held in Almaty, Kazakhstan September 15-20, 2009 is now open. Please fill in all applicable fields along with the title of your proposed poster if you intend to present. Once you have clicked "Submit", you will be redirected to the LCLUC webpage and will receive a registration confirmation email. See the working agenda and logistics for more information.

The meeting will take place in the Resort "Alatau", located in the suburbs of Almaty City, in the foothills of the Zailiyskii Alatau, next to the thermal mineral spa. Resort "Alatau" is located approximately a one hour drive (outside rush hour) from the Almaty International Airport.

Participants who have sent their arrival information (carrier, flight number, date/time of arrival) to the organizers by Sept. 10, 2009 will be met at the airport and transported to the resort. Participants will be met by organizers with a poster displaying the logos of the meeting. Those who are not expecting to be met at the airport should take a taxi to "Sanatoriy (Russian for 'Resort') Alatau". A taxi from the airport to the Resort "Alatau" costs from $50-$80 US, depending on the time of arrival (night taxi fares are higher than during the day).
