Opportunity to review the IPBES land degradation assessment

The Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) has announced the external review of the second order draft of the thematic assessment on land degradation and restoration and the first order draft of the summaries for policymakers. The review is open from 1 May until 26 June 2017.  If you are a NASA employee (civil servant or contractor) and wish to provide a comment, please follow the template provided on the review site and email your comments to Allison Leidener (Allison.K.Leidner@NASA.gov) by June 8.

IPBES is the intergovernmental body which assesses the state of biodiversity and of the ecosystem services it provides to society, in response to requests from decision makers.

Experts wishing to participate will first need to register as users of the IPBES website (http://www.ipbes.net/user/register?destination=sod-review) and apply to become an IPBES external reviewer for individual chapters per assessment at http://www.ipbes.net/user/login?destination=sod-review (this will only work when logged in first as IPBES website users).

The Africa, Asia-Pacific and Europe and Central Asia assessments are also being reviewed from May 1 – June 26.  The Americas assessment will be open for review from May 29 – July 24.
