The American Geophysical Union's 2024 Annual Meeting (AGU24) is scheduled for December 9–13, 2024, in Washington, D.C. This event, themed "What's Next for Science," is the world's largest gathering of Earth and space scientists, attracting over 25,000 attendees from more than 100 countries. AGU24 will feature a hybrid format, offering both in-person and online participation options.

Overview:  Wildfires are the biggest problem in the wildland urban interface (WUI), i.e., the area where houses and wildland vegetation mix or intermingle, and this combination of fires and development greatly affect biodiversity in the WUI.  Our research group has spearheaded the mapping of the WUI and its growth, and we are actively researching wildfire regimes and biodiversity in the WUI.  We are seeking candidates for two new positions funded by NASA and the Moore Foundation, which will contribute to exciting collaborative projects with agencies, conserva
