Postdoctoral Researcher, Remote Sensing

The Woods Hole Research Center seeks a postdoctoral researcher to participate in research projects focused on mapping and monitoring carbon in forests, primarily in the tropics, incorporating field forest inventories with satellite observations (optical/radar/lidar). The successful candidate will work closely with the principle investigator and collaborators, applying satellite observations to improve tropical forest characterization, monitoring and improve carbon management in the tropics.

National Science Foundation Geography and Spatial Sciences Fellowship

The Geography and Spatial Sciences Program sponsors research on the geographic distributions and interactions of human, physical, and biotic systems on the Earth's surface. Investigations are encouraged into the nature, causes, and consequences of human activity and natural environmental processes across a range of scales. Projects on a variety of topics (both domestic and international) qualify for support if they offer promise of contributing to scholarship by enhancing geographical knowledge, concepts, theories, methods, and their application to societal problems and concerns.
