Climate data records (CDRS) from satellites, proposals due 10 November, 2010
The University of Alaska Fairbanks invites applications for a postdoctoral scientist to conduct modeling studies in the Alaska Peatland Experiment (APEX see http://www.uoguelph.ca/Apex/APEX/Home.html). Applications will be received until the position is filled, but review of applications will begin on 9/1/2010.
Tenure track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level in Earth Systems Ecology. Areas of study could include interactions among landscapes, terrestrial ecosystems, climate change, land use/land cover change, biofuel production or other energy-related processes, and biogeochemical cycling. Research focused on landscape, regional or global scale is desired. Review of applications will begin on August 30, 2010 and will continue until the positions are filled.

The meeting will bring together the project and working group members of the three GEWEX Panels [GEWEX Radiation Panel (GRP), GEWEX Modelling and Prediction Panel (GMPP), Coordinated Energy and Water Cycle Observations Project (CEOP)] to develop and discuss a plan for GEWEX science post 2013.
The Woods Hole Research Center seeks a postdoctoral researcher to participate in a tropical forest research project related to mapping forest cover changes and estimating carbon stock changes. The successful candidate will work closely with the principle investigator and collaborators on applying remote sensing image analysis techniques. This position offers research and training opportunities in an advanced remote sensing and GIS environment, with related travel to tropical forest countries for fieldwork and remote sensing capacity building.
