Job Details
New ideas are all around us, but only a few will change the world. That’s our focus at JPL. We ask the biggest questions, then search the universe for answers—literally. We build upon ideas that have guided generations, then share our discoveries to inspire generations to come. Your mission—your opportunity—is to seek out the answers that bring us one step closer. If you’re driven to discover, create, and inspire something that lasts a lifetime and beyond, you’re ready for JPL.

Wildfires, Biodiversity, and the Wildland-Urban Interface: 1 Postdoc and 1 PhD position, UW-Madison, SILVIS Lab

Wildfires, Biodiversity, and the Wildland-Urban Interface: 1 Postdoc and 1 PhD position, UW-Madison, SILVIS Lab

Overview:  Wildfires are the biggest problem in the wildland urban interface (WUI), i.e., the area where houses and wildland vegetation mix or intermingle, and this combination of fires and development greatly affect biodiversity in the WUI.  Our research group has spearheaded the mapping of the WUI and its growth, and we are actively researching wildfire regimes and biodiversity in the WUI.  We are seeking candidates for two new positions funded by NASA and the Moore Foundation, which will contribute to exciting collaborative projects with agencies, conserva

DAPR Guidelines for normal ROSES-24 DAPR program elements

NASA’s Dual-Anonymous Peer Review (DAPR) ensures fair and equitable proposal evaluations by keeping the identities of proposers and reviewers anonymous until after the review process. This method aims to reduce implicit bias and has shown improvements in the diversity of awardees, especially increasing the success rates for women and early-career investigators. The review guidelines emphasize anonymizing references to team members, institutions, and past work, while a separate document provides details about team expertise and resources.

Updated Deadline Compliance for No-Cost Extension Requests

Updated Deadline Compliance for No-Cost Extension Requests

Principal Investigators (PIs) must ensure submitting requests for No-Cost Extension (NCE) prior to the end of the project's period of performance (POP). It is crucial to adhere to this rule to prevent NCE requests from being denied. Failure to do so can lead to non-compliance issues, as demonstrated by a recent denial from the NSSC Grants Activities Branch. Since January 2024, the NSSC has started rejecting grantee requests for No-Cost Extensions (NCEs) for a variety of reasons.
