Ongoing annual extensions (1992–present at ~300m); v2.1.1 (including 2016 onward with Sentinel-3 integration) active/updated in 2025. Continued production into 2026 (no major new version announced by March 2026, but time series extended progressively). The European Space Agency's (ESA) BIOMASS mission is scheduled to release its first forest carbon maps following a progressive schedule, beginning in late 2025 and moving to full open access in early 2026. The mission is designed to provide critical data on forest structure and carbon storage, launching in April 2025.
